Comunque, tirando le somme, e finito cosi:

ETF - 8 posto, in un girone di m..., dove ha invcontrato la vincitrice (EMCDDA) e l'altra finalista (Parma)

Paolo, sta bene (questo e per la moglie), mo non e sicuro di voler giocare piu. Pippo ha un ginocchio doppio, e le ditta dei piedi finite male. Non diciamo niente di quelli con le bolle ai piedi, ma il messagio e chiaro: se la prossima volta non abbiamo almeno 1(uno) ricambio che funziona, noi diamo il forfait. dopo cinque partite, si sentiva un po di fatica.

dopo la cena a EMSA/EMCDDA e la cerimonia di festegiamento (un puo innebiate da fiumi sangria) ancora un paio di birre e secchi di mojito e siamo tutti a letto. adesso.

lisbon - cascais - lisbon

ha, non e stata una giornata facile. era chiaro dalla matina che non era chiaro niente. dopo la collazione, viene da noi il ragazo che tiene questo posto dove dormiamo, e ci chiede "ok, have you decided where do you want to go?" .... hm... non proprio. ci ragrupiamo tutti, lui ci parla un po di quelo che si puo vedere qui, castello di san giorgio con dietro il mercato dei ladri... musei vi interessano? no! ma, senti, noi domani dobbiamo andare a questo posto, carcavellos, e lontano, come si fa? e lui riparte ci spiega che c'e il treno, a soli 10 min da qui, che ci porta dirretamente li, e un posto per i surfisti,  ma sempre li vicino e cascais, vale la pena, e se si va per forza si deve mangiare la "cataplan", una cosa tipica... ok, andiamo. sulla strada, a un chiosco, max vede il caffe espresso... tutti fermi, 50 centesimi, piu o meno buono come quello della villa gualino... si prende sto treno, come una metropolitana, ogni 20 min, da lisbona a cascais. abbiamo visto dove e carcavelos, estoril, ancora qualceh fermata ed eccoci a cascais... figata, non ti puoi fermare dal pensare che ci sono un sacco di gente che lavorano a queste due agenzie di lisbona e che abitano a cascais... ebbene, questo posto e proprio una stazione di vacanza, bellissima, sul mare, ciotolatto bianco dapertutto (come in tutto il resto del portogalo) ... scendiamo in spiaggia, bagno ai piedi nel'oceano, un po di foto, si risale in cerca di mangiare quel cataplan... scartiamo i posti per i turisti, ci infiliamo vicino a un matrimonio, posti abastanza deserti, due ristoranti raccomandati da routard e lonely planet, niente cataplan, ci rinunciamo, dai torniamo nella zona turistica... li, si trov, si, ma costa tipo 48€... grazie, si va avanti... e si trova. ci sediamo tutti (a un certo punto, era un tavolo come l'ultima cena, tutti dalla stessa parte del tavolo, c'era un po troppo sole) ..... grigliata mista  di pesce e questo cataplan per tutti, vino bianco (moderato, costava 14€ a botiglia).. il cataplan non e altro che zuppa di pesce /bouillabaisse , buono.... caffe, dolce? no, basta, le finanze soffrivano un po dopo quelle 3 botiglie di vinho verde, la kitty (gestita da fabio, ma ti puoi fidare?) ha solo 2 euro e 40 centesimi quando abbiamo finito... ci hanno comunque preso per turisti, ci hanno fatto pagare tute le picole cagate che ti metono sul tavolo, olive, etc...

si riprende il treno, si scende a estoril...   deserto piu assoluto, nessuno, tutto quel parco davanti al casino , niente altro da vedere che case, ville... ma va. non andatese avete la possibilita.   dopo 20 minute era il trenno succesivo, lo prendiamo alla svelta, e ci rifermiamo a carcavellos, per la strada di ritorno... a, non voglio insistere sull fatto che era un tempo stupendo, sole forte, un po di vento, 22 grade... altrimenti sembrerebe che ci fossimo divertiti.... invece no, eravamo tutti incazzati che prima del trenno, entrati in un negozio per prendere bannane e red bull siamo usciti con succo di mela e arachide-pellet, che piu legnose non si poteva... colpa di marco :-)... ed arriviamo a carcavelos, troviamo veloce la scola e i campi (un super complesso, c'erano stati almeno 6-7 campi da calciotto, tenis, palacanestro, un sacco di ragazzini), troviamo anche i cessi e poi, rilassati, cominciamo una seduta tattico-fisica di alenamento (pippo a chiesto una palla a un ommone del posto) , rigori, calci d'angolo e camminare preocupati in lungo e lato del campo... sembra un po grande... dopo un ora di movimento (in jeans, che sia chiaro), basta, ci siamo rotti, si va in spiaggia. 5 min dopo eravamo li, spiaggia grande, pieno di kite-surf e anche dei sprovedduti che provavano le onde, ci facciammo un sonellino soto il bel sole delle 6, e basta, si rientra, siamo una squadra seria, mica vogliamo fare tardi, gia avevamo caminato troppo, non possiamo essere troppo stanchi domani. alla stazione si rientra nel negozio, e si prendono queste red-bull (da mettere in frigo per domani)... e basta. sta sera cena leggera, domani dobbiamo partire con il treno delle 8:40. non sara duro per niente.

il primo giorno

gia, bello, nel aereo, vedere tutti ragrupati sul coridoio centrale, chi con e chi senza scarpe, parlando di tattica... e chi sta dietro... e chi sta davanti... e come si cambia...

il posto dove stiamo (traveler´s house) e esato come nelle foto, una figata di posto. adesso, con la pancia piena di una collazione portogheze (uguale al´inglese, ma senza bacon) ci stiamo preparando per i primi allenamenti. 2 ore di corsa, ritorno sulla sabbia, una partitella e poi subito al sonno pomeridiano, dobbiamo essere in forma.  ma quando mai....

ma dov´e pasquale?

stavamo per perderlo.... giocatore chiave, centrale, colona di forza... che pero si fida un po troppo del navigatore. dovevvamo partire da un ora gia, e pasquale girava per moncalieri, cercando il punto d´incontro con paolo (che comunque era a torino)... risolto tutto eggregemente, paolo e stato preso da pippo, che era tornato a casa perche si era dimenticato il passaporto, e pasquale a spinto a 190 (o giu di li) per arrivare a malpensa. lasciando stare l´imbarazzo di non aver trovato il parcheggio per il quale avevamo prenotato, arrivando all´aeroporto, si vede che l¨aereo ha i suoi 40 min di ritardo ... meno male, due fette di pizza a testa e una bella birra (dal bicchiere di plastica, che schifo), e ci siamo....

Franz is one of our historic players, he would have been the perfect fit for Lisbon - also because he has special ties to Portugal (he either taught german to portuguese or portuguese to germans... or just lived somewhere where people were talking portuguese, or...  :-)

so here's a bit of German advice on Portugal, coming fresh from Belgium:

Ask for the
-       casa do Alentejo (folkloric building not far from Rossio with traditional restaurant in the first floor) - http://www.golisbon.com/food/restaurants/Casa-do-Alentejo.html,

-       cervejeria trindade (a very known Portuguese restaurant

But food and beers should not be the problem when you will be in Lisbon.

Coaching the greatest team in the word

On the eve of the Inter-Agency World Cup, Andy spoke to ETF team manager Dave Kidd about working with such a group of star players, team tactics and, being an Irishman, which teams to put your money on...

“I'm an Irish thrill seeker with a rich sporting background. I've managed my school rugby team, the 4th team that is, and managed my own personal golfing career which went nowhere. I'm personally very inspired by José Mourinho which should help as we'll be playing in Portugal.

I’ve been managing the ETF for two seasons now, but it seems like 10. Its a tough job but I enjoy a challenge.

I'll be telling the lads that it doesn't matter whether they win or lose, just go out there and come back alive. Its a game of two halves and if you win them both that's the best anyone can ask for. Our tactics will be Italian style such as falling over as much as possible and crying for penalties.

Well we've a few surprises up our sleeve like Mircea, definitely our fastest player, Gary who doesn't know whether he is a centre forward or a goalie and Filippo who can run rings around himself until he falls down dizzy. But we'll be keeping all these special skills secret until the big day. Fabio is our true inspiration though, a man who understands motivation with a 'never say die' attitude.

In fact we're pretty keen to do better than EFSA just to show them who's boss in terms of Italian agencies. Other than that we'd like to make friends not enemies with the girls team, Bank. I know the lads are keeping a special eye open for the ladies.

If you’re a betting person, I'd say keep your money for better days. The safest way to double your money during this tournament is to fold it over once and put it in your pocket.

Win or lose we will be swimming in the Atlantic ocean on Sunday evening with a few beers to celebrate. Make no mistake this team is going out there to win and if we don't win we'll lose I reckon. Free beers all round whatever the outcome!

Final Calendar

We start playing at 10:45, against organisers EMCDDA (don't let the name DRUGS mislead you), but they will be tired, as that will be already their 2nd consecutive match (or warmed up, depends) .

After 30 mins of play and 15 mins of break, at 11:30  we play EFSA (their first game, so fresh).
Then we have a longer break, and at 12:45 we play Fusion for Energy .

And after having won all these games, we're ready for the eliminatory games!
(remember, the BANK  is the girl's team)
