the headline: ETF goes to Parma, 5th of May

ETF's football team will be participating to the Tournament which will be held in Parma, on Saturday, May 5th.

It will be a full day event, packed with action, where we are aiming not only at improving our previous performance (8th place in Lisbon 2011, check-out blog here and video on event here), we're aiming the CUP!!! the CUP must be ours !!!

Leaving dreams to us-dreamers, it would be a nice day-out experience, which we hope to share with as many of our colleagues as possible. If feeling like spending a Saturday (5th of May is expected to be the perfect spring-is-here, sunny day, our Parma colleagues have guaranteed for it), then let us know by writing our name ( + partners, kids, dogs) in the registration form, which would allow ETF to estimate the size of the bus to take us to Parma.

We will be meeting colleagues from 15 other agencies : EMCDDA (aka "Drugs"), EFSA ("Food"), EMSA ("Maritimes"), EMA("Medicines"), ERA("Railway"), EDA("Defence"), ECHA("Chemicals"), CdT ("Translation"), F4E (Fusion4Energy, also called "atomics"), ECB("Money"), EASA("Aviation"), ESMA ("Markets"), EBA("Banks"), FVO("Vets") and Frontex.

ETF's will play starting from 10:30, our group matches being:

10:30AM ETF - FRONTEX (Training vs Borders)
11:00AM ETF - EMA (Training vs Medicines)
12:30PM ETF - EASA* (Training vs Aviation - mixed team, they will have also girls)

The last game of the tournament, the Final, is expected to take place around 6 PM.

The ETF supporters' bus is expected to leave Turin around 7:30am (in order to be in Parma in time for 10:30, our first game). 

Us the players will be there already Friday evening, doing the recognition of the pitch and premises.

The common return to Turin can be organised after dinner, around 11:00PM. The actual departure times can be agreed in advance, depending on the interest of the participants.

Game among us - maybe we have some chances

Come in here, Dear boy, have a cigar. You're gonna go far, You're gonna fly high, You're never gonna die, You're gonna make it, if you try; They're gonna love you. Well I've always had a deep respect, And I mean that most sincerely. The band is just fantastic, that is really what I think. Oh by the way, which one's Pink?

Well, tonight was a bit of an overcrowd, played 8 a-side on a 7-a-side pitch, with a change. It means we were actualy in 18 ( didn't happen since ages), and while on the positive side one might consider the reduced fee for the pitch pro-capita, on the not-so-positive there the need to change players every once in a while... Well, the score speaks clearly, the team going to parma is little-by-little getting better. we won about 7-4, undoubtely due to a very solid midfield. Also, cosidering our goalkeeper Gary wasn't there (Bruno was great in the goals, we definitely have him as reserve goakeeper, no, even more, Gary, if I were you I'd start to get worried), the conclusion after two beers a-head was that "we're getting better". Next monday we play again among ourselves, and on Wednesday there will be the "revanche" against JollySport - remember - " the band is just fantastic".

Lisbon is the past, Parma is the future

OK, time to forget we reached only the 8th place in Lisbon , we need to look ahead.

There are only 46 days left until the tournament in Parma (5th of May, mind that date) , and we need to get fit. Fabio has already set up a schedule with two matches a week. Yesterday we played against Max's peruvian freinds - they played better but we won :-)

Next match tomorrow, we'll play just between ETFers, don't forget to register for the game.
