Some more rules... and CHARITY
Fresh message from Danilo (goalkeeper of EMCDDA):
Few more rules:
Charity
Danilo: "I have asked the project leader of a charity to explain us what they are doing and how we can help. He explained the following:
Project: '12 Dias Diferentes na Adroana' (12 different days for Adroana)
Target group: Adroana is a social housing project in Alcabideche, near Cascais where very low income families from different races and cultural backgrounds live. This project will target 50 children/teenagers aged 10 to 16 living in Adroana.
Aim: For 12 days in July, this project will promote summer activities among these children/teenagers to foster the values of respect, social support and racial and cultural diversity. They will be given the opportunity of visiting interesting sites and given the task of organising a multi-racial, multi-cultural community party in Adroana which will take place in the final day of the project.
Why should we help: This initiative is organised by a charity (CulturSol) entirely staffed by volunteers from social housing projects themselves. Other NGO's (such as the Red Cross) support this project with their own resources, but no funds are available and the Adroana families cannot afford to pay for their children to have this opportunity. Most of the parents in Adroana work long hours and their children are left unattended for most of the summer period.
How can we help: The project's cost is estimated in €3000. CulturSol and the other collaborating NGOs are trying to raise funds. A contribution from our side would ensure that the project is feasible to implement and any extra funds would be used to organise activities for a longer period of time and to promote training for the young informal leaders of Adroana (mostly aged 16-17) as role models and community workers.
Dear colleagues I propose we tax ourselves (the players 10 € each). We also send an envelop around in our respective agencies to collect little the money basically to sponsor you in your sport endeavor. But the money collected will be donated towards this project. We are thinking to invite some of these children to play football in the synthetic pitch of the St. Julian compound the same day of our competition. We plan to give the cheque during the 'cheque and price ceremony' that will be on the 8th after dinner in the EMCDDA Headquarter. So let's see who will be the winning agency for generosity.
We have created an account number for the transfer. Identity the Agency in your transfer please. You can also give me directly cash even though the first option is preferable."

Few more rules:
Referees
We will have 3 professional, even if young, referees that will take of the respect of time and rules during the competition. The set of rules will be communicated to all after Easter.
Pitch
We will play is a grass field (grassy not sandy (?)) with three pitches of equal size 60x35 and with equal 7aside goals. This is due to the great effort the St Julians School of carcavellos to which we are extremely grateful all.

The teams
Attached is the list with all the other players, including their status. It's still draft, and the complete set of rules should also arrive soon (red cards? referees? game duration?)
I hope we're the last ones only because we start with T :-)
ECB is the team to keep an eye on, it's the girls :-)
They're not in our group, we might play with them only if we qualify, I'd say that's a good reason!

Externals? The Golden Apple of Discord
Should the participation be limited only to Agency Staff? Husbands? Boy friends?
It's not just us, ETF, that put forward a mixed group of employees and friends. Finally, it seems that the composition of the team will not be penalising, but it will rely on fair play.
For me, I think winning is a remote dream. But starting already knowing that we should loose (because of the composition) each and every game (except maybe the ones where we'll be playing against mixed teams like ours!) would be seriously demotivating, and would throw away all the fun.
The Plea
(the Organisers, and ETF subscribes):

The Plea
(the Organisers, and ETF subscribes):
- We are now received 09 out of 12 team lists. The non staff members are very few. None in EASA, ECHA, EFSA, ERA and just 2 relatives out of 12 staff in EMSA and F4E and 1 out of 8 in EMA . CdT and EDA did not answer yet.
- The teams with more relatives are 3 ECB (girls) ETF and EMCCDA.
- The ladies are 9 with 4 male friends, so at the worts there will be in the field 3 girls and 4 boys;
- ETF with 5 extras out of 9 staff and us with 5 out of 5 (and we do not have more then just 10 people)
- In our case the question is that we are a pretty small agency and not many players. We usually play againts EMSA that are many more using also 2 husbands of collegaues and 3 boyfriends. We have friends that play with us normally but they are not playing in the tornament, and not happy about it. We play with the same people since years, even though in an off from injuries. None of us is a pro or semi and we are between 30 and 45, I am 44 myself.
- Also in our original letter we allowed relatives, would be a little unfair to say now you can play but you loose. Given the fact that they are close relatives I would allow that.
The voice of reason:
For us it is acceptable but this situation has to be improved in the future.
Please find enclosed the comments I just publish this one that we have to retain for the further organization.
For the sake of the game and the fun I think we should let everyone play as they are, with spouses, boyfriends, friends, as it would be hard for the smaller agencies to even make up a team: the rule, in the end, should affect only the classification and the eligibility to claim the title of winner of the tournament. I’m sorry, but a team made up by a majority of ‘friends’ or players from 2, 3 agencies should not be eligible to claim the title.
I repeat: we all play, but eligibility to the title is limited to those teams that have a majority of employees, including husbands/spouses
(for example, how would your team/Agency claim they won the title when all players are external?)
Anyway thank you very much to launch the EVENT and I understand for the small agencies it is not easy to have a competitive team or to have a team.
You’re reason, the aim is to participate and don’t apply the Schuman Trophy rules, I’m very confident about the fair play of everybody.

Accomodation
We had several choices (thanks a lot Booking.com): Lisbon, center, 10 pax
And so we found...
as I see, the tendency goes for the first one, the only doubt we have is how many of us are going to be...
Ali might still join as moral support, and we still don't have news about Giuseppe.
And so we found...
- Vip Executive Suites Eden Aparthotel (4*)3 Apartamenti (da 4) x 3 notti = 1110€ (se siamo in 10, viene 110€ a testa)
- Rent4days Oliveirinha Apartments 3 apartamenti (3, 3, 4) = 930€ (93€ a testa)
- Lisb'on Hostel All together in one or 2 rooms (of 8 beds each) , 63€ per person (we pay for beds)
(Se vogliamo piu interaction)
as I see, the tendency goes for the first one, the only doubt we have is how many of us are going to be...

The Team
1) GARY BONGE (keeper) - ETF
2) FABIO ANDRES RICCI - ETF
3) MIRCEA COPOT - ETF
4) PAOLO MURCIO - ETF (husband)
5) FILIPPO DEL NINNO - ETF
6) PEDRO PUJOL - ETF (husband)
7) PASQUALE MARINO - ETF
8) MARCO PICCININI - ETF (husband)
9) GIUSEPPE RAVELLI - ETF
We've had three players (Sam and Ali from ETF and another one Husband of ETF - Thierry ) who got injured in the last 2 months.
On the other hand, we can guarantee that:
1. none of the non-ETFers is above the average ETF level (which is far from "champion")
2. we are a team that plays regularly together, so we're not "importing" players
2) FABIO ANDRES RICCI - ETF
3) MIRCEA COPOT - ETF
4) PAOLO MURCIO - ETF (husband)
5) FILIPPO DEL NINNO - ETF
6) PEDRO PUJOL - ETF (husband)
7) PASQUALE MARINO - ETF
8) MARCO PICCININI - ETF (husband)
9) GIUSEPPE RAVELLI - ETF
Paolo is quite uncertain currently (he's recuperating from an older injury), and Giuseppe still needs to confirm.

Dear all
we have thought that it would be nice to link this event to a more noble cause. We thought that the EU agencies personnel while enjoying some sport can at the same time improve a little the life of less privileged people. We found out of a little project destined to provide a summer camp to 50 disadvantaged children (10-16 years old) of different races and cultural origins (Bairro Social da Adroana, em Alcabideche). These are children of families with very low incomes and many difficulties. Our help could make a difference during ' sometimes dangerous' free time in providing these children with an enjoyable and may be inspiring summer.

Info on Goals
1. Measures of the goal
We need to inform you on a latest development. As you remember, from the calender that we have already sent you, during the qualifying phase teams will be playing in three pitches at the same time. While we have found the space, we did not succeed in finding 3 pair of 7 aside goals (6x2mt). We have 3 pairs of regular (BIG) goals (7,33x2,44mt.) and 2 pairs of 7 a side goal (6x2mt). However the big goals, are really big especially if the pitch is just 60mt. long.
Our idea would be to play the qualifying round using the 2 pairs of 7 a side goal posts (6x2mt) and 1 pair regular goal (7,33x2,44mt). One of the three pitches therefore will have the big goals (7,33x2,44) and each teams will need to play at least once with the big goals. The rule we can enforce is that will not be allowed goals that did not touch anyone in the half field of the team suffering the goal.
The semifinals and finals will be played in 2 pitches therefore using the smaller goals (6x2mt).
2. List of Players
We need to receive the list of players for all teams that have not yet identified the players
3. Hotels and flights
It could be useful to know where you will arrive and will stay. Please let us know
